I have a bunch of Miles. I didn't include him because he is a musical genious that belongs in ANY fan of music collection. In fact I didn't include any of my Jazz or Folk.

Here are a couple of other ecclectic ones I just thought of Paul Robeson - Songs of America

Those Darn Accordians - Squeeze this ( promo )

And anyone ever heard this one:

Luther and the Wrights - Rebuild the Wall. It's an all Country and Bluegrass ( done with tongue n cheek ) version of Pink Floyd's the Wall. Just when I thought I could never listen to that album again... it's GREAT.

Ever listen to any of the Bill Laswell remixed Miles? Great stuff.

And I have heard snippets of the Luther Wright deal on the local radio station, KPIG, but not the whole thing.

I'll second that - his (Bill L.)remixes of Bob Marley are always on at my house.

Had a chance to see Miles at my school (engineering school, but the Arts dept. brought in some top notch performers: Pat Metheny, Miles, Chick Corea, Spyro Gyra to name a few, all of whom I was, as a friend once put it, close enough to spit on. Never did of course). At that point in his carreer, Miles was one interesting dude to see live; dressed in mulitcolored tinfoil and with enough jerry curl to coat the Titanic. Of course he spent the entire show with his back to the audience, but, Holy Shit, could the man play.

Most everything Bill Laswell gets involved with is very interesting and cool. Google him and you'll see.
